TENDER NOTIFICATION

•Sealed Tenders in the prescribed form in duplicate are invited by the undersigned on behalf of the IIPM from Registered and Reputed Contractors having Class I license issued by the Government of Karnataka, other State Governments or Government of India or Public Sector undertakings under State or Central Government, for the work mentioned below. Duly filled Tenders may be submitted at the Office of The Director, IIPM, Bangalore till 3.00 p.m. on 11th May 2010. The tenders will be opened on the same day at 3.30 p.m. in the presence of interested bidders or their nominees.

•Printed Tender Documents can be purchased by making an application to the Director, IIPM at the office of Director, IIPM, Bangalore from 26th April (Monday) 2010 to 10th May (Monday) 2010 upto 3.00 p.m, after a payment of Rs.1,000/- being the cost of Tender.

•Bidding Documents requested by mail will be dispatched by registered/speed post on payment of an extra amount of Rs.1,000/- for each set. The Director, IIPM will not be responsible for postal delay, if any in the delivery of documents or non-receipt of the same.

CONSTRUCTION OF LECTURE HALL FACILITY,
[EXTENSION OVER LIBRARY BLOCK (FIRST FLOOR)]

INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB)

1. IIPM proposes to construct Lecture hall facility [extension over library block (first floor)] at its premises in Bangalore and it has the necessary finances for the same. Bidders should be registered with the Government of Karnataka or other State Governments or Government of India or State/Central Government Undertakings. Bidders are advised to note the minimum qualification criteria specified in Clause 4 of the Instructions to Bidders to quality for the award of the Contract.
   
   
2. The Director, IIPM invites bids for the construction of Lecture hall facility [extension over library block (First Floor)]. The approximate value of works is Rs. 67.00 lakhs.
   
   
3. Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased from the office of the undersigned from 26th April to 10th May 2010 till 3.00 p.m. for a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1,000/- (for three sets) in terms of cash or Demand Draft on any Nationalized Bank payable at Bangalore in favour of “Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bangalore”. Interested bidders may obtain further infor¬mation at the same address. Bidding documents requested by mail will be dispatched by registered/speed post on payment of an extra amount of Rs. 1,000/-. The undersigned will not be held responsible for the postal delay if any, in the delivery of the documents or non-receipt of the same.
   
   
4. Bids must be accompanied by security of Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) payable at Bangalore and drawn in favour of "Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bangalore". Bid security will have to be in any one of the forms as specified in the bidding document and shall have to be valid for 45 days beyond the validity of the bid.
   
   
5. Bids must be delivered to Director’s office, IIPM, Jnana Bharathi Campus, Malathalli Post, (Next to Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology), Bangalore-560056 on or before 3.00 p.m. on 10th May 2010 and will be opened on the same day at 3.30 p.m. in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend. If the office happens to be closed on the date of receipt of the bids as specified, the bids will be received and opened on the next working day at the same time and venue.

Note:

• • No commercial negotiations will be made on the rates at the time of tender evaluation. Evaluation is purely based on the quotations.
  
  
• • Award of Contract: Within 2 working days; Time: 5.30 pm.
  
  
• • Project to start latest by 3rd June 2010.
  
  
• • The successful bidder shall furnish all documents as required before the award of the contract. Maximum time limit to furnish the Performance Security is 10 days from the award of the contract - Latest by 24th May 2010.
  
  
• • Mobilization Advance: 15% of the evaluated amount shall be paid as mobilization advance against a bank guarantee.
  
  
• • The overall project cost shall be distributed as 4 interim bill payments, apart from the advance payment.
  
  
• • Time of completion: 6 months from the date of start of the project.


• • Shall be a fixed rate contract, no escalation in material prices is considered during the term of Contract.

3. Bidding Documents requested by mail will be dispatched by registered/speed post on payment of an extra amount of Rs.500/- for each set. The Director, IIPM will not be responsible for postal delay, if any in the delivery of documents or non-receipt of the same.
   
   
4. The above payments are to be made by way of a Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of IIPM, Bangalore.
   
   
5. The interested Contractors are requested to note that they should abide by the detailed instructions and conditions in the tender Documents to be purchased by them.
