Objectives This Professional Management Course aims at providing management education to the entrants in the plantation and associated agri-business sector. The program is aimed at combining the grassroots action with global competition and equips the students for managerial positions in Agri-Plantation Business Sector. Accordingly, the program equips the students with the latest ideas and techniques in management and technology. Students undergoing this program can expect better opportunities of career advancement. Further, as individuals they would be better equipped to provide future leadership to the industry. Organizations also benefit substantially from the professional expertise acquired by the students through this program based on an 'accelerated learning approach' to acquire and sharpen their managerial skills. Students are exposed to the state-of-the-art developments in cyber-revolution through hands-on skill acquisition in internet and other related developments. Course Structure
The course is divided into 6 classroom trimesters covering 117 credits including Corporate Training Segment of 12 weeks. It integrates technical, functional, managerial and leadership aspects of management with a fusion of skills, techniques, qualities and values. The course is customized to the requirement of the industry. The customization of various courses is ensured through plantations and agri-business related case studies, field visits including "camping out" for sensitizing the students. Students also have an opportunity of interactions with industry leaders through vision building talks. The course structure is as follows:

Teaching Methodology & Academic Ambience

3D and Grounded Praxis Approach Institute's teaching methodology uses a variety of approaches to learning. In addition to the case method issues analysis and cyber learning, institute uses the 3-D approach of Discussion, Dialogue and Discourse. Institute also uses the concept of 'grounded praxis' to sensitize students to the local conditions and social issues. Institute provides world class academic ambience for learning.

Self Development & Cultural Enrichment Self Development & Cultural Enrichment is a continuous process at the Institute. This is facilitated through involvement of students in creative activities and participation in debates, seminars, essay writing, music & poetry and other creative involvements that facilitate the holistic development of students.
Evaluation & Grading System
The academic performance evaluation system is viewed as a means to promote learning process, and is designed to assess the ability of the students to apply knowledge for problem-solving and increasing organizational effectiveness. The evaluation is a continuous process based on assignments, quizzes, project work, seminar presentation, mid-term test and final examination. CTS and SFA reports will be evaluated.

The Term Grade Point Average and Cumulative Grade Point Average are computed in each term as the credit weighted averages of individual grades in and up to each term respectively. Weightages for different components of courses are made available to the students at the beginning of each term. Rules for eligibility of the institute's diploma are provided in the Institute's academic rules book.
Shri Jairam Ramesh, Minister of State for Commerce visits IIPM
Hon'ble Minister of State for Commerce, Shri Jairam Ramesh visited the IIPM, Bangalore on 25th August 2006. During the visit the Minister inaugurated 6th batch PGD-ABPM of IIPM and also had a close interaction with the IIPM Board of Governors, Director, Faculty and Students of the Institute.
As part of interactive session with the faculty of the Institute, the Minister lauded the achievements of IIPM and emphasized the need to intensify efforts to establish the IIPM Centre in the North East region of India.
