IIPM, an organization of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GOI has been conferred the “2012 World Education Congress Award” titled “EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE WITH BEST ACADEMIC & INDUSTRY INTERFACE” for its intensive state of the art institute–industry-interaction (3Is) initiatives in agri-business development and academic activities. Conferred at the World Education Congress summit held recently in Mumbai, the award was instituted by the Global Advisory Council of Education and Academics Jury and the Board members of WEC. Out of 3,608 entries received from 88 countries, IIPM has been selected for the category of “Best Academic and Industry Interface”. The award was received by IIPM Director Prof. V. G. Dhanakumar. IIPM has been selected because of its unique programs viz., reach-out, management development, professional certificate programs, centre of excellence activities and flagship PGDM-ABPM academic programs which provided a professional cause to the industry within the county and neighbouring countries. IIPM is entering into the membership of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB-USA) and celebrating its 20th Foundation Day. Prof. V. G. Dhanakumar, Director, IIPM, received the “Bharat Vidya Shiromani Award” for his outstanding achievement and remarkable academic contribution. Prof. V. G. Dhanakumar, Director, IIPM received the Bharat Vidya Shiromani Award and a Certificate of Excellence for his outstanding achievement and remarkable contribution in the field of sector-specific management education, research, outreach and development in the country and the North East region in particular, instituted by the Indian Solidarity Council, New Delhi, in association with the International Institute of Education and Management. Prof. V. G. Dhanakumar has developed and achieved sustainable institutional framework module towards financial, academic and administrative autonomy for the sector-specific business school. Dr. V. G. Dhanakumar is also the recipient of Indian Leadership Award for Education Excellence on 6th May 2013, for his outstanding individual achievement and distinguished services to the Nation. The award was presented by Health and Education Development Association, Delhi, in the presence of Hon’ble Shri. Harish Rawat, Union Minister of State & Water Resource, Government of India, H.E. Mr. Waven William, High Commissioner of the Republic of Seychelles, Hon’ble Sarder Joginder Singh, IPS (Retd.), Former C. B. I. Director (India), Hon’ble Guru Mata Mangla Ji, Shri. Hanslok Foundation, Delhi, Hon’ble Shri. Pradeep Tamta, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Hon’ble Shri. Kunwarjibhai Mohanbhai Bavaliya, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha. Dr. V. G. Dhanakumar is a distinguished author of articles, papers and books from the field of Technology Management & Plantation and associated Agri-Business Operations Management. Dr. V. G. Dhanakumar is an Alumni of Cornell University and University of Wisconsin, U.S.A. Served as a Post Doctoral Fellow of USDA-OICD. Earlier, he has been conferred Rotary International Award, Hosler Award, HAFSA Award and WRLP Evaluation Award. Served in ICAR, United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI), and State service in Wisconsin and New York, U.S.A.
